"Following God is choosing to live by faith, not by proof." This was something that our speaker this week, Morgan Perry, shared with us in her journey of choosing to following the Lord. Interesting how she said that, and now here I am... with the choice - Do I follow by faith? Or follow by proof? Following by proof is a sensible decision to the world, but my heart pulls towards faith more than anything else.
We are suppose to leave for India Thursday morning. Half of our team is for sure leaving then, and the other half that I am in might have to leave at a later date. Because of the complications of our visas processing, we have yet to have them mailed back. They are suppose to be here on Wednesday in order for us to leave Thursday, but the chances of that are slim. The chances of having them approved are higher - but still not definite. This honestly couldn't come at a worse time, but I have to choose to have faith in this situation. I know that the Lord is not worried, and He's not in a hurry... therefor because I put my faith and trust in Him - this shall also be the attitude I carry. I am pretty stressed out right now, so along with that comes feeling sick when I am eating. I am praying for favor and grace, and just that the Lord would strengthen me.
Missing home is a feeling that keeps increasing, especially when things aren't running smoothly. So that on top of everything is a little crazy. But thankfully the Lord has given me amazing brothers and sisters here to encourage me and build me up in times of need.
So, I will keep you guys updated. Please be praying that we all get approved for our Visas, and that they are all sent soon!! If things do not turn out like that, we will come up with a Plan B on a missions trip - but I am praying that we get to India.
Thank you so much for your support financially and in prayer & intercession... it has carried me a long way and still continues to!
Matthew 4:4 - "Jesus answered, 'It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.''"
Galations 2:20 - "The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
1 Timothy 3:9 - "They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience."
Elizabeth, I don't think I've told you my visa miracle story! In 2008 I had to get two visas at the same time... I was going to China for a couple weeks, and then onto England for school from there. I was visiting my friend out of state, applying for these two different visas (Chinese and English Student) at the same time... stressful! haha =). My passport had to be sent off to one city for one visa, returned to me, and then sent off again for the other visa. I was supposed to leave early early Monday morning, so the last day for the visa to arrive in the mail was Saturday, and we paid a ton of money so that it would arrive. And it didn't. Ahh! So my dad drove down to the large sorting post office, which was closed, and knocked on the door until the one random person that was still inside answered the door, haha, and he was able to get my visa for me! So even when the mail hasn't come and the post office is closed... have faith =). If God wants you in India this week, God will get you to India this week! <3 -Sarah W.
