Amsterdam Outreach - Exciting News!

I absolutely love being able to share exciting news with you, and that is what I have today!!  As you can see from the picture above, there is a bit of traveling in the new future for me.  And, if you have been on any other forms of media you have seen my posts about a trip to Amsterdam in March!
I have been in The Leadership Track for just under a year now, and as leadership has prayed, they have felt the Lord call them to take an outreach as a group every 3 months, and I get to be a part of the first one!  The idea to go to Amsterdam was a word that was given to the Leadership Track by Loren & Darlene Cunningham and a few other key leaders on the YWAM base here in Kona.  As they were going over places where we had teams going consistently, they felt a tug on their hearts to send more people into Amsterdam, and asked us to take it on.  Needless to say, we are very excited to see what the Lord is going to do through us!  Here are a few objectives to our trip:
  • Meet with Key Leaders in the city to possibly start Fire & Fragrance DTS' there in the very near future
  • Building relationships to prepare the way for future YWAM teams to be in Amsterdam months at a time
  • Going into the 3 Red-Light Districts to minister to the prostitutes who have been victims of sex-trafficking.
  • Doing prayer watches in the 24-7 house of prayer in the middle of the Red-Light District
  • Working with the organization Serve The City Amsterdam

The more I think & pray about what this trip is suppose to hold, my spirit gets so excited!  We all have felt that we are going to be a "strike team" as we go in.  We have a mission, to revive hearts & bring life to the dead.  We want our lives to be a witness to all those around us.  We realize that our time in Amsterdam is a short 2.5 weeks, but there is such an expectation in our spirits for what the Lord is going to do!! When the Lord calls a people to a place, there is more that He can do in one day than we could do in 7 years without Him.  And the call of the Lord on this trip has been immense!!
I know that this is the Lord by many different signs, but one of them has been the financial provision over all of us.  In just 2 weeks I was able to raise over half of the money I needed for the outreach, which is amazing!  I was also able to watch my leaders, who have a family of 5, have had over $11,000 given to them within 2 weeks!  The stories go on and on of how the Lord has been so faithful to provide for this trip.  We are all getting very stirred!
So on March 11th, I will be flying to Amsterdam, which will be my first time to Europe.  I also have the opportunity to go to a couple other places in Europe when we are done.  We have 2 week break before we have to be back to base for the April quarter of schools.  Between March 28th and April 11th, I will be traveling with a few friends to Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and London.  Those two weeks will be filled with seeing a handful of friends that I have not seen in quite some time, visiting other YWAM bases around Europe, investing in friendships, and continuing to dig the wells of our hearts for what the Lord has for all of us in the upcoming months.

I want to personally thank all of you for investing in not only this trip, but investing in the dreams the Lord has put inside of me.  You have each been a testimony of Gods faithfulness, and a sign & a wonder to my own life.  THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for obeying the Lord is the biggest and simplest ways.  You have been a part of a story with Jesus that is so priceless.  While we are in Europe I will try to update this as much as I can to keep you in the loop.  If you would like to receive email updates (which may be more frequent), please contact me at oceansroar@gmail.com and I will put you on there!
If any of you still feel led to give and would like to invest in the rest of this trip, I only need $500 for all the housing, food & transportation while on outreach in Amsterdam.  Please email me at the address above and I will give you multiple options for giving!

God bless you all, have a beautiful week!

Whirlwind!

The only word to describe this past week would be whirlwind.  I couldn't explain to you all thats happened, but I will try!  At the beginning of the week, I was planning on moving to Wilmington NC with my best friend.  Well, I walk into work on Tuesday and receive an opportunity for a promotion, to be one of the Office Managers.  I am sure you can imagine my surprise at this, especially since I have only been employed there a little over 2 months.  I knew this was the Lords favor, so I decided to pray about it.  On Thursday night, I was praying and really just wanted the Lord to only make one thing go right, this way the decision was easy.  But I knew that He wasn't do that, and part of it was so that I would really seek His heart, receive His perspective, and go after His face in this time.  So this past weekend i went to Wilmington with my parents and younger brother.  It was such a fantastic time for all of us, and the Lord really began to speak a few things.  During my time Thursday night & the weekend on Wilmington, the Lord spoke a lot, but it wasn't on direction; it was about my heart.  He brought me back to many journals entries, over 6 months ago, about seeking His face and that He would give me clarity when I had to make decisions.  He spoke about how my heart is the most important thing, to guard it & to go after the things in it with all that I have.  Over the weekend my dad asked me a question, "Lizzie, if you could go anywhere and do anything, if peoples opinions didn't stop you and you really went where you were fully alive, where would you go?" Immediately my heart knew, "Hawaii".  The thought of this scared me a little bit, because I was nervous that I would use Hawaii as my crutch, but then the Lord revealed to me that that was part of the reason I stayed home.  He has used this six months to ground my faith, to stir up my hunger for His heart, and my roots have been brought deep into His soil.  All of the fear was erased and He brought hope to my heart again.

My heart for the nations cannot be described, and when I get around people who have that same heart beat, I come alive.  I was made for something more than the ordinary, I was truly made to thrive in the extraordinary & the supernatural.  I believe the Lord has put a desire in my heart, that for this season, will be quenched while being in Hawaii.   I will be on staff with Fire & Fragrance and will be joining some of my best friends on the Leadership Track they run on campus.  Some of this will include: prayer room staff, ministry into the town of Kona, serving the campus in needed areas, staffing DTS, staffing schools and leading outreaches, participating with another pioneer community, teaching in schools, and ministry trips.  The point of this track is to raise up a generation sold out for the Lord, living a lifestyle of honor and respect, worship and intimacy with the Lord.  It will be an intense season of seeking the Lord for the present and the future and investing in relationships as well as training and preparing for all He has for my life!!  I am extremely excited and expectant of what will happen and all the Father will be doing during this season & I cannot wait to see it all unfold.

At the moment, I will be leaving for Hawaii at the end of this month.  I am still in need of a plane ticket so that date isn't sure yet.  I will also need a minimum $600 a month in support.  This will include all of my living expenses; housing & food, gas for transportation, and other necessities.  If you feel the Lord putting it on your heart to support me either monthly or one time, please feel free to call me at 704 724 1175 or email me at oceansroar@gmail.com.

Ending A Season Victoriously!

Wow!  I am the worse blogger in the world.  It's been well over 2 months since I have written you, and I am super duper sorry!  I have no good excuse except doing the Lords work ;) haha.
How is everybody?  I feel I need a followers update on your hearts & lives back home and around me.

Things here have been absolutely fantastic & and I am completely filled with the joy, love, and faithfulness of my Father.  I just returned back to Kona from Irvine, California.  A lot of things have changed since I last talk to you, so I will get you updated just a bit!
We headed off to California on the first lovely day of July.  We lost housing 24 hours before we boarded the plane, and really didn't know what to do except pray, so we did!  Within that 24 hours, we received a phone call 20 minutes before we boarded the plane, saying we could stay the whole 7 weeks with a family who are pastors of Newsong Church in Irvine.  We headed out, and soon came to the obstacle of no transportation, but yet again! the Lord provided.  The family let us rent out their van from them for the whole time we were there.  We were blown away and so encouraged for what the Lord had for us!  As the weeks continued, the stories didn't change.  Yes we had our ups & downs, our highs & lows, but nothing could take us down.  We were strong & committed to the word of the Lord to be in California.  About 4 weeks in my co-leader, Kellye, and I felt the Lord nudging in our spirits to stay in California (we had originally planned to finish the 4 weeks of outreach in New York City).  After praying with our leaders, bringing it to the team, we were all in complete agreement this was from the Lord & we decided to stay.  Thank goodness we listened because let me tell you, those last 3 weeks in California were the best of all outreach!
We had the privilege of joining the Circuit Riders for the last 2 weeks we were there, for as much as we could.  We still stayed with our normal ministries, but used all of our free time to be involved in what the Lord was doing in & through them.  To read more about who they are & what they are doing, go to the Fire & Fragrance - Circuit Riders website).  We were able to be a part of over 100 salvations in 4 days, over 50 healings, mass revelation & downpour of the Holy Spirit daily for 2 full weeks!  Every night we ended on Huntington Beach at the Hilton Hotel.  They rented out a big white tent & each night it was bombarded with drug addicts, atheists, the broken, the lost, the homeless & the hurting and all, in one way or another, encountered the love of Jesus.  It was a powerful time.
On September 3rd at 7am we boarded a plane and flew back to Kona, our home sweet home with our big Call2All family.  And man has it been refreshing!  We all spent the first night back together eating pizza, drinking sodas, having a party & sharing stories.

So now it is Monday & tomorrow we are starting our debrief week.  This is where we share even more stories & testimonies, hear each others hearts more in depth, and share in the victory of all that the Lord did on outreach & the past 6 months we have been together.  It's basically like a family reunion for a week straight, super fun!  The students will graduate on the 21st of September and then we are done!  I cannot believe it's already been almost 8 months since I arrived here & 6 months since the school started.  The consistent thread throughout this whole time has been the faithfulness of the Lord over our school. Time & time again He proved Himself worthy of ALL praise & worship.  Something all of my girls said at the end of the outreach was "We have completely fallen in love with the man Jesus, and have no reason not to give our whole lives to Him."  If that is all I saw through this whole thing, it would have been worth it... Because if we do not have that as the foundation, nothing else matters.  But! we saw even more than that... Because we had that foundation everything just began to overflow out of that place of intimacy with Jesus.  HE IS SO GOOD!
I am incredibly encouraged, lifted up, walking victorious in Jesus & what He says.  I am in love & overwhelmed with His goodness to ALL of His children.

I apologize this is so short, but I would love to tell more of the stories in person.  Thank you to every single person who invested in this time in my life.  Whether you gave financially, or prayed, or just thought about us on our journey, it was all needed & I am deeply deeply thankful for your investment.  The Father will bless you immensely for being a part.

God bless!

A thirst for Holiness, not acts of Legalism

Greetings from Kona!! I'll just jump right into it since nobody really wants the small talk ;)

To say that coming to Kona was the right decision, would be an under statement of the century. It was the best decision, the only choice... and it's one heck of a blessed decision! I've been here not even 4 full days yet, and my Paradigm's are wrecking, my boxes are being destroyed, and my heart is like a broken city being rebuilt from the ground up with the most amazing architect. I don't fully know where to begin exactly or how to describe to you what the Lord is doing right now. This is the best I can do right now as I am still processing a lot of it.

I arrive in Kona, and I am greeted by Shea, Carissa, & Aaron (All Call2All Staff). We ride to the campus. And it's almost not believable, it hasn't fully sunk in that I'm BACK. Through out the week there have been a couple instances where it's hit me that I'm in Kona again... One was drinking a glass of tap water, one was walking downtown, and one was just a realization of not necessarily that I was in Kona, but an extreme overwhelming moment when it hit me how blessed I am and how insane it is that God has chosen me to fulfill this season. So good. So the next morning those of us who arrived this week had orientation, got a little bit of our schedule, we went to our leaders house for dinner, had staff meetings, got trained in Student Services. And things were lookin' pretty good. Nothing crazy, but all so good and peaceful. Like I said in one of my facebook status', a feeling of peace has made it's home in my heart like never before in my life - and as I sit here, 4 days in, it has done nothing but intensify. Peace that surpasses all understanding! Wooohoo!!

So this weekend we had "Relationship Weekend". Brian Brent & Andy Bird headed most of it up, and then Amy Sollars and Lindy Conant ending it. Everything in me has begun to shift. Revelations have been poured over my heart. I cannot tell you the last time I was this excited about Jesus in MY life. Not what He wanted to do in the future, but just the closeness of His spirit over me. So many things sunk into my heart this weekend. Here are just a couple bullet points that began to take root in my heart.

-Character of Honor
-Restoration of Chivalry
-Present Retrospect
-Purity
-Holiness
-Righteousness
-Renewal of our Minds
-Guarding our eyes
-Breaking off Legalism and Entering into Holiness
-Motives of our hearts

I want to go into one of these things... Just because it rocked me to the core.
Something that has really taken me alot of places today, is Breaking Off Legalism and Entering Into Holiness. Now, I just have to confess to anybody reading this, The Lord has really dealt with a lot of pride in my heart regarding this. So much is happening on campus, and so many people are going to the extremes for TRUE holiness, for TRUE purity, simply because their hunger and thirst for Jesus and Intimacy outweigh any other desire that they may have, or even in a way to shake off any other desire besides the one that should be leading us. A couple of times, already, situations have happened where somebody was taking a stand, and I became very judgmental and prideful in my heart. But I realized tonight, it was only out of a place of insecurity, out of a place of bitterness, and out of a place of jealousy for convictions the Lord was giving them that I myself wanted. Not necessarily the same conviction, but that closeness with Jesus that made me do extreme things for him. These are things that so easily ensnare us, and we don't even realize it because in our culture, it's "normal" and a lot easier to just label things as legalistic. I've done it so many times! We all do it! When I looked up "Legalism" in the dictionary, this is one definition that I found: "the doctrine that salvation is gained through good works". Now, if we take a stand on doing things because we want salvation, and we think the way we get it is through doing extreme things, by doing anything at all, then yes... we are walking in legalism. BUT! I have some very liberating secrets to let you in on. It is NOT legalism when we desire the Lord so much, when we realize there is nothing TOO great to sacrifice for more of Him, and we are hit with the revelation of 1) the value of Jesus & the cross, and 2) the value of ourselves. When we begin to tap in on this piece of heaven, this sliver of excitement, it will change your world. We don't give up things because it "seals the deal" we give up things because no other thing is better. We give it up because it's just another thing that we don't have to worry about being in the way for us to commune with Jesus. It's a process that allows the Revival of your Heart, to walk out as the Reformation of a Lifestyle.
Let me give you an example so you better understand what I am trying to say.

Jesus asked me if I was willing to give up movies for the next 8 months of my life (along with a couple of other things). Now, are movies bad? No. Is entertainment bad? No. Is God upset with us watching movies? I don't think so. So whats the big deal? Let me share my heart...
in Matthew 6:22-23 we read, "The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is the darkness, how great is that darkness!" We gather a couple of things from this scripture. 1) Our eyes are a MAJOR gateway into every aspect of our body. Our mind, Our heart, Our soul, Our Spirit... every aspect. And 2) It says light, and it says darkness. There is no "in between" no "gray area" that society so embraces now to allow us to sin without conviction, without the fear of the Lord.
So if my eyes are the gateway to my whole being, what I choose to look at, will essentially become who I am... right? What we watch is what becomes our reality on the inside, and what is on the inside cannot help but overflow into the reality of what we do, what we say, etc. etc.
So... some may say that it's "legalistic" to go on a movie fast for 8 months. But, I truly believe that in this season of laying down that thing will radically begin to shift my heart, my mind, my soul, my spirit... into a place where the Holy Spirit is strengthened inside of me... where I not only am honoring MYSELF, but I am honoring the Holy Spirit. Because I trust the Holy Spirit. And it is a practical act of GUARDING the things that the Lord has placed inside of me. It is a step I'm taking that, for me, says "I am willing to lay down this one thing for a season for the fullness of what Jesus has for me. So that I may be renewed. So that what use to be "normal" for me to intake (all the sins of the world), would begin to disturb me and bring me closer to the heart of Purity, to the heart of Jesus." I, myself, want to stop using Grace as an excuse to sin, and stop using Legalism as an excuse to not be extreme for the Lord. I've done it for too long, I've seen my friends & family do it, and I've seen the damage it has on a generation who is actually thirsty and hungry for truth, but isn't willing to lay down little choices for it. I am hungry, I am thirsty... and if I do not go after this, I will die. I want to live. I want life.

I believe the Lord is raising up a generation of purity. Young men and women who crave righteousness, who seek after holiness. This doesn't have to be over spiritualized. It doesn't have to be some intense thing. It's what we were created for! We have to stop making things such a big deal, because it's easy. It's a CHOICE. Sure, there definitely is a process in things. There is a process in the renewing of our minds and purifying of the soul and spirit. BUT, there is no process of choice. We have a choice. And we either choose light - life, the ability to allow the Holy Spirit to cleanse us, to renew us, to strength us and edify us. Or we choose darkness - death, allowing the enemy space inside of our hearts to root himself so gradually and silently but quickly. Each choice leads to the next, and the next and the next. Whether it is good or bad. It's goes somewhere, it doesn't just stay in one place. We have to stop allowing society to de-sensitize our spirits, we have to stop ignoring the moving of the Holy Spirit inside of us. EMBRACE Righteousness, EMBRACE Purity, EMBRACE Holiness. I guarantee you won't look back 10 years from now and think to yourself "man, I wish I would have done more of those 'border line' or 'gray area' things." It's not about legalism. It's not about being better than anybody else. It all comes down to how much do you want Jesus, how much do you long for purity? And is he worth you giving up something to allow more space for Him to reside in your life? It can look different for every person, but we all have places that deserve the Lord to reside there instead of what we've allowed to reside there in the past.
I just want to encourage you, in everything I say it's never for condemnation or anything other than just to encourage you, to challenge you. I do not believe there is anything too extreme to do for God. Society probably has a lot of things that are, but in my book... and I believe in Jesus' book, there isn't. Because when we come to Him with a heart hungry for Truth, hungry for Himself... He loves our sacrifice, and He promises His fire. He honors us as we honor Him, with the little things & with the big things. So don't be afraid. Just go after Him. Now is the best time. It's not too early. It's not too late. It's the PERFECT time to surrender it all to Him and go after Him with every single piece of who you are. And why not? We have nothing to loose. Only everything to gain!

I'll probably be going deeper into detail with some of the other things we learned about. I could probably write a book about all the revelation the Lord poured out this weekend. So much beautiful conviction, freedom I haven't experienced in YEARS. It' so amazing when you let the Lord take the reigns of your life. He'll definitely take you up on your prayers!!

I love you all. I miss you. Please respond, thoughts? questions? I'd love to hear from you. Love Love Love & loads of Peace over you!
